Terry Gross Staff Picks #4: "Rough Window"
Our fourth release in an ongoing 'stay at home' series of digital releases. Over the course of our collective quarantine, we'll be mining through the past 4+ years of Terry Gross rehearsals and jams in an effort to help us all pass the time, 20 minutes at a time. Minimal edits and mixing; raw and presented as-is. "Rough Window" was recorded 12/29/15. Fun Facts: from the very first Terry Gross Band holiday jam, day 2. Paul Manley was present and assisted on day 1, which turned out to be quite helpful for remembering to power up all devices used on the recording.
A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
I am very interested in the Psychedelic Rock Genre, and Earthless always delivers. I usually listen when I am sober, but I need to try when i'm on LSD. I loved the Album Sonic Prayer, and Rhythms From a Cosmic Sky not as much, with From the Ages bringing it back. All albums have memorable songs, I just need to listen to them more. Acid Crusher is Definitely One of those. I still need to listen to Black Heaven. jeanluchayes
