Terry Gross Staff Picks #3: "Mushroom Waltz"
Our third release in an ongoing 'stay at home' series of digital releases. Over the course of our collective quarantine, we'll be mining through the past 4+ years of Terry Gross rehearsals and jams in an effort to help us all pass the time, 20 minutes at a time. Minimal edits and mixing; raw and presented as-is. "Mushroom Waltz" was recorded 12/29/18 at El Studio in San Francisco, CA.
A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
Straddling the threshold between studio performance and digital technique; the NYC artist applies "fake jazz" principles to synthpop. Bandcamp New & Notable May 2, 2024

I am very interested in the Psychedelic Rock Genre, and Earthless always delivers. I usually listen when I am sober, but I need to try when i'm on LSD. I loved the Album Sonic Prayer, and Rhythms From a Cosmic Sky not as much, with From the Ages bringing it back. All albums have memorable songs, I just need to listen to them more. Acid Crusher is Definitely One of those. I still need to listen to Black Heaven. jeanluchayes
